Updated April 2022
Recently I’ve been struggling. I had abdominal surgery in February and my PCOS has worsened as a result. I’m doing everything I know how to get things under control. And that is why I am so glad that I came across Ovasitol for PCOS. It has made such a huge difference for me and as you (hopefully) know, I love sharing the things that really work for women with PCOS.
So, let me tell you a little more about Ovasitol.
What is Ovasitol?
Ovasitol is a supplement designed for women with PCOS. It is a combination of D-Chiro and Myo-inositol in a 40:1 ratio.
Let’s break that down a little. If you’ve been following PCOS Diet Support for a while, you may know that Myo-inositol has always been my number 1 PCOS supplement. It has helped me conceive, lose weight, manage my cravings and generally stay in control of my PCOS. So, why am I now recommending Ovasitol?
To answer that question properly, I need to explain a little more about Myo- Insoitol and D chiro inositol.

Myo-Inositol
I’ve written about Myo-inositol before (you can see that article here) so I won’t go into all of that detail again. But to briefly summarise it here:
- Myo-inositol is one of 9 other kinds of Inositols.
- It is the most common inositol occurring in the body.
- It plays a role in the insulin signaling pathway
- It is really important in helping insulin enter cells effectively by working on the insulin receptor of the cell.
- It also plays a role in way in which insulin works on the cell and it makes insulin’s role more effective.
Remember that women with PCOS have irregularities in the way the body responds to glucose and insulin so if you work on the insulin pathway, you are likely to see some improvements in PCOS symptoms.
What improvements can you hope to see with and inositol supplement, I hear you ask?
Myo-inositol supplementation has been shown to:
- lower testosterone levels
- helps to restore normal ovarian function and induces spontaneous ovulation
- helps to restore regular menstrual cycles
- improves insulin sensitivity
- promote egg quality
- helps to improve insulin resistance
So, how does D-chiro Inositol compare to Myo-Inositol?
D-Chiro Inositol
D-chiro inositol (DCI) is formed from myo-inositol. It is not present in as high a concentration as myo-inositol. Now, women with PCOS are thought to have a deficiency of DCI. You see, DCI is formed from myo-inositol but women with PCOS struggle to make that conversion. We also lose more DCI in our urine than we should. (1)
Now, researchers suggest that this deficiency and impaired use of DCI may result in or at least contribute to insulin resistance in women with PCOS.
But, what does DCI actually do? How does it help women with PCOS?
Well, DCI helps to improve the efficacy of insulin. In doing this, it also improves: (2)
- blood pressure and cholesterol levels
- serum levels of androgens (testosterone)
- ovulatory function and helps to restore normal menstrual cycles
That sounds pretty good to me.
Why combine the two?
For the last 4 years I have been taking myo-inositol on it’s own and it has worked well for me. So, why change? Why is combined myo-inositol and DCI better than myo-inositol on it’s own?
Well, myo-inositol is really important for improving egg quality and ovarian function. This is obviously particularly important if you are trying to conceive. And DCI has been shown to address the insulin resistance to commonly seen in PCOS (in fact, research suggests that most obese women with PCOS and 50% of lean women with PCOS have insulin resistance) (3)
Using a combined approach helps to tackle PCOS from a systemic level, as well as at the level of the ovary (4)
Also, some recent research showed that taking the combined therapy of myo-inositol and d chiro inositol together had a better improvement on the metabolic factors of women with polycystic ovary syndrome than just d chiro inositol on it’s own (5).
Where can I get Ovasitol?

When you order the Ovasitol, you’ll get a 3 month supply made up of easy to use sachets. Just mix one sachet in water twice a day. It’s really easy and less messy than the big tub of Inositol I used to use.
Some commonly asked questions about Ovasitol
Can I take Ovasitol while taking the birth control pill?
Remember, ovasitol works to improve ovarian functions as well as on the metabolic aspects of PCOS. So, whilst you may not be ready to start a family, ovasitol can help with other symptoms of PCOS.
So, taking inositol while on birth control can help to improve insulin levels and insulin sensitivity which could promote normal hormone profiles on women with PCOS.
Can I take Ovasitol and Letrozole at the same time?
Letrozole is often prescribed for women who are struggling to conceive . It can help to improve ovulation rates.
There is no evidence to suggest that inositol would interfere with letrozole and vice versa. In fact, they may work well together as Letrozole improves ovulation and inositol has been shown to improve egg quality.
Of course, it’s always best to speak with your physician before taking any new supplements.
Ovasitol pills or powder form?
I am often asked about taking inositol pills or if the powder form is better. Ovasitol is actually not available in capsules or pill form. It is only available as a powder that is mixed with water on a daily basis.
How does Ovasitol help when I am trying to conceive?
Taking Ovasitol on a daily basis improves hormone imbalance and helps to improve ovarian response. This means that you are more likely to ovulate each month and have a more frequent and regular menstrual cycle.
Ovasitol also helps to improve egg quality. This is because it reduces oxidative stress on the eggs (6)
So, if you are trying to conceive, taking Ovasitol can help you to get pregnant by improving your chances of ovulation and by improving egg quality.
How long does it take Ovasitol to work for PCOS?
Many of the women that I work with report seeing improvements in a couple of weeks, from some weight loss to improved skin and reduced acne.
But, for best results, Ovasitol should be taken continuously for at least 3 months. This is because it can take a few months for your hormones to balance.
Can I take Ovasitol while pregnant?
Ovasitol is a water soluble vitamin and is not stored in the body. This means that it is safe to take during pregnancy.
There is actually some research showing that taking inositol during pregnancy can help to prevent gestational diabetes (7)
So, if you are struggling with PCOS and want to get pregnant, Ovasitol is a safe supplement to take.
If you are unsure at all, make sure that you talk to your healthcare provider before starting Ovasitol.
What is the difference between Inopholic Alpha and Ovasitol?
Inopholic Alpha is also an inositol supplement but it only contains myo-inositol, not the combination of myo and d-chiro inositol.
Also, Inopholic Alpha contains folic acid and Alpha-lactalbumin. The Alpha-lactalbumin is said to increase the absorption of inositol.
Do I need a prescription for Ovasitol?
Nope, you don’t need a prescription for inositol. You can order it online here.
Does Ovasitol have side effects?
There can be some very mild side effects when taking Ovasitol but it is generally very well tolerated. If anything, you may experience mild stomach upset.
Can I take Ovasitol with Metformin?
Metformin is an insulin sensitising drug and helps to improve insulin sensitivity. It is often prescribed for women with PCOS. Although Ovasitol is generally safe to take alongside Metformin, it is best to check with your healthcare provider as the combination of the two may lower blood sugar levels too much.
What is the typical recommended dose of Ovasitol?
Ovasitol is normally taken in the morning and evening. One sachet contains 2g on myo-inositol, which is the typical recommended dose.
Final Verdict
Right at the beginning, I told you that my PCOS was not where I want it to be at the moment, since my surgery in February. I’ve gained 3kg in 2 months and my cycle which is normally pretty regular has gone MIA.
I only received my Ovasitol a week ago and have been taking it for 6 days. In that time I have lost 1kg (I’ve also been much stricter with my eating). Still no period but I know that may take a bit of time.
With these benefits in such a small amount of time, as well as all of the research that I have read and shared, I definitely think Ovasitol is my new number 1 PCOS supplement.
I highly recommend it and think you’ll see great improvements in your PCOS.
So, if you’re rearing to go and give it a try, you can order some here, for the best price.

Hi Tarryn,
Is it safe to take ovosital whilst pregnant? Or breast feeding? Also can you tell me what other supplements are safe to take whilst pregnant to help with hirsuitism as it gets worst during pregnancy!
I am at my wits end I know I am very lucky to have conceived but the excess hair is getting me down! What can I take to help this whilst pregnant? Doctors don’t have a clue and just tell you that’s life get on with it.
Thank you so much in advance!
Rachel
I have been diagnosed with PCOS recently and my doctor hasnt prescribed me any supplements like Ovasitol instead she prescribed me some weight loss tablets.
Metformin might be helpful in that area as well we normalizing your cycles, but it sounds to me like she is just pushing synthetic drugs. 🙁
Hi Tarryn, can I take B complex vitamins with Ovasitol? I used to use Metformin years ago and my doctor in the UK told me to stop taking it as I don’t have polycystic ovaries. When I moved abroad a year later, I had an ultrasound and the doctor said that I do have polycystic ovaries and gave me vitamins! I’m in such a mess and am worried that this isn’t enough so should I take Ovasitol instead of possibly going back on metformin? Also, does Ovasitol help with regrowth of thinning hair? Thank you
Hi I would also like to know if it will help with thinning hair? Xx
Yes, Lara and Caroline, it can help with thinning hair. Have you also had your thyroid levels chaecked?
Can I take Ovasitol and inositol together ? If not which one is better for me. I’m not trying to conceive
Hello There Ahsley. I’m just new in this blog. I just posted same question. Did you get any answer about it? Thanks..
Ovasitol and Inositol are both the same thing. Ovasitol is a combination of myo inositol and D chiro inositol while inositol is just myo inositol. Just take one or the other.
Hi Tarryn,
I have PCOS but was thankfully able and blessed with 3 beautiful children. My children are almost all grown so I am not trying to get pregnant. My issue with the PCOS is just how dang hard it is to lose the weight. Would the Ovasitol still be something that would benefit me?
Any updates on your weight loss Tarryn? I have been trying so hard to lose weight I work out and eat healthy for the most part but its not enough. Please let me know how it has been for your weight loss since you started taking. Thank you
Is this safe to take with the birth control pill?
Absolutely, Stephanie, it is.
Awesome, thank you!
I have a question. The doctor just put me on a Progesterone…can I still take Ovasitol along with that? I have been without my period for 3 months! Thanks so much!
Hi Tarryn,
Ive been trying to conceive for the past 12 years but couldn’t .I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8years ago and till now haven’t conceived I have already taken the highest strength of Clomis which is 150g and then my doctors switched me to metformin but still it didn’t work . While browsing though I came across Ovasitol please advice if this supplement is delivered to Fiji and if so should I be taking that with DCI Myo inositol or just ovasitol. if there is no supply in Fiji please advise if this can be purchased over the counter in USA from any of the pharmacy as I have my sister in Sacramento who can purchase and send it to me .
Desperately awaiting for your reply.
Many Thanks
Art
Arti, I’m so sorry to hear that you have been struggling to conceive for so long. You can definitely order it in the US, using the link above. You can then either have it shipped to your sister or use a company called http://www.shipito.com to ship the Ovasitol to you in Fiji.
Hi, I have pcos with a NORMAL period. Could this possibly make it abnormal? Also,is there a benefit in taking liquid vitamin D vs just tablets? Thank you,
Lori
Tarryn
Can I take this if I’m taking Metformin?? Do you know? Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I scrolled through but didn’t see it.
Nevermind. I found it.
I was wondering the same. What was the answer?
Yes you can but you should speak to your doctor about it first.
Hi Tarryn!
I’ve been taking Ovasitol for 3 months now. In October I started my first round of Clomid which showed successful ovulation but did not result in pregnancy. This month I did my second round with no sign of ovulation. Very frustrating! However, I have noticed in the last month that my skin has cleared up! I do not have painful, embarrassing breakouts like I use to after coming off of birth control. I would contribute this to taking Ovasitol 🙂
Thanks for all of the knowledge!
Melissa
Hey
I have been diagnosed nearly ten years now and my symptoms are awful.
I don’t respond to the meds that the hospital put me on and consequently signed me off as nothing we can do.
What kind of tests can I do too see where all my levels are at so I can help myself?
I am really at the end of my tether with it all and so confused with all of the information I read. Should I drop dairy, gluten? Sugar? Everything or not. Supplements?
I have acne, hirtism, weight gain, cravings, brain fog!!! I have also been on antidepressants for nearly 15 years also.
Any advice will be really appreciated…
Many thanks
Kelly
I started taking liquid iodine. I dont have to take my antidepressants now.
I wanted to buy this Ovasitol but it’s so expensive that I can’t afford it 🙁
I made some big sacrifices like no toilet paper (use water in shower and save $5/month), no tissues/napkins (use recycled knit from good parts of old cotton tshirts to blow nose as doesn’t fray, soft, easy to wash save $2/month), air dry clothing, cut cell phone to $9 on Ting, drink ice tea made from tap water (save $5/month), eating rice (cheaper than other carbs saves me $10/month), etc. Yes it is extreme but…For me if I don’t manage my PCOS I won’t be able to keep working due to health troubles so somehow I will find the money because the research seems promising. Take another look at your budget and try to trim. It is hard but you are worth it!
I ran screaming when I first saw the price on this stuff (and that was with your site referral discount). But….after adding up how much it would cost for a 3 month supply of myo and d-chiro on Amazon, I came back, lol. This is actually a decent price. Not terrific and astounding, but hey, it brought me back.
I’ve read the studies on inositol, and still take a low dose in addition to metformin, but after my pregnancy I ballooned up almost 70 pounds in less than a year. Now I’m sitting here, 70 pounds heavier, and looking at the clock ticking fast towards 40 and wanting to have another baby–and my OBGYN says I need to lose that weight first.
Ugh. I forgot how utterly depressing it is trying to lose weight with PCOS. Time to up my game, up inositol, up metformin, and lower calories drastically. Not looking forward to this.
Hi I had success with inositol after 4years of trying and failed fertility treatments I got pregnant naturally after afew months on inositol it also cleared my Pcos acne, I continued to take it until 12weeks as recommended it one of your posts about inositol. I’m now breast feeding my three week old baby but in the past two-three months the acne had got worse especially after giving birth, I know it’s because of hormones/Pcos so topical treatments aren’t helping, I was hoping the Pcos acne would clear up when I started breast feeding as it did when I fed my now 6yr old but it’s not happening like that this time. Is it safe to take inositol or the one you talk about here whilst breast feeding?
hi Tarryn, can ovasitol be taken alongside a mutli vitamins supplement ?
Hey Tarryn,
I was hoping you could suggest something to mix the ovasitol powder in, other than water. I know some chemical compositions of certain liquids may negatively interact with certain supplements.
Thanks a bunch!
I started taking ovasitol for 2 days and already, Ive slept through the night for the past two nights. Normally I wake up either to eat as I feel hungry, or to use the bathroom. I am so thankful that I’m already seeing and feeling results! I don’t know if I have PCOS, but I have been struggling with insulin resistance, fat around my belly, and had two miscarriages in a row in the last year. I’m hoping ovasitol can help control the insulin issue and help us to conceive and carry a baby to full term!
I feel very happy reading all the benefits of ovasitol especially for those TTC. However do you know if they ship to Nigeria? We have been trying to conceive since August 2015 and with PCOS it can be very difficult and exhausting. Thank you Tarryn for all the info. I would like to hear more about how it can help me get pregnant soonest. Best regards.
I have been put onto the combind contraceptive pill Yasmin. I wonder if I can take this too?
Yes, Kathryn. It would be find to take Ovasitol as well
Hi,
Can I take ovasitol and vitex ( I take 800 mg vitex) together.
Thanks
Hi Taryn,
I have been trying to conceive my second child for a year now. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I ordered the Ovasitol, but can I take this with fish oil?
Thanks!
Hi Tarryn,
Is there any tests we need to do or have anything checked on our body before we can take Ovatisol?
I’m just thinking of any negative effects of taking too much Ovatisol
Will appreciate your clarification on this! 🙂
Hi Tarryn,
I am Sheila from Dubai and I have been diagnosed with PCOS since 2008 but its only until recently that I am seriously taking action on it. I am currently taking inofolic sachets with metformin. My partner and I decide that I should stop taking those and shift to Ovasitol. However I can’t find it here in Dubai. The link provided in this page doesn’t ship in the UAE. Do you have any idea where I can order them other than the Theralogix site? Also, what brand of Inositol do you recommend as an alternative?
Thanks,
Sheila Dote
HI Sheila, You can odder it here (they should ship internationally) http://www.functionalnutritionsupplements.co.uk/?affiliateid=4320
I have been taking inofolic for about 5months now and my periods aren’t regular yet nor do I seem to be ovulating. My doctor recommended I take it. Do you think I should swap to ovasitol instead?
Thanks
Angela
Hi Sheila,
That is exactly what I am on now – Inofolic and Metformin. I am also thinking of stopping those and taking Ovasitol only. What were the results for you?
Many thanks,
Alexandra
Hi Tarryn,
I have been having trouble taking Ovasitol due to upset stomach and gas. I believe it is the maltodextrin suspension causing this. Do you have other suggestions for a similar substitute?
Thanks,
Rebecca, you can try regular Inositol although I think Theralogix are trying to work on removing the maltodextrin component so it may be worth trying it again in the future.
Is the maltodextrin gluten? Just checking because I am GF as well as DF.
Hi Tarryn,
I’ve been trying to conceive for the past 12 years but cant I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have taken clomid up to 150g which is the highest and then switched to metformin but still no changes . Is Ovasitol tab found in Fiji and if so should I take that only or should I have myo inositol.
Awaiting for your favorable reply .
Thanks
Arti
Hi Tarryn,
I purchased Ovasitol after seeing your recommendation. I was hopeful, but have done multiple trials to confirm that it is causing the troublesome side effects of stomach upset and gas. I am guessing this is because it is suspended in maltodextrin. Do you have any other suggestions for a similar supplement?
Thanks!
Hi Tarryn,
Would it be safe to take Ovasitol with Actos medication?
April, you should speak to your doctor about that.
All I’ve ever been given for PCOS is Metformin. I still struggle with fatigue and difficulty losing weight. My obgyn has never mentioned any supplements. Has anyone else taken Metformin?
Jessica
I have the exact same problem. I have been looking through the internet to see other solutions. I don’t think the Metformin is helping me in anyway, I haven’t seen any changes
Hi Jessica! I’ve been taking Metformin since March, that’s about 5 months now. Losing Weight with Merformin is not really working for me. It may help on my sugar level though. My OB still recommends proper diet and exercise.
I took Metformin in the past for several months but I stopped taking them because it attacked my stomach and guts so much that I couldn’t leave the house anymore.
I know this is a bit late
but I take Metformin – have been taking it for a while now.
made me sick the first week but I was fine after that.
its done a real good job at regulating my period!
Hi Tarryn,
If I remember correctly, in previous blog posts about Inositol, it was recommended that it be taken with folic acid or folate? Is that still the case with Ovasitol?
Thanks,
Christen
Christen, if you are trying to conceive, I would take it with Folate. Otherwise Ovasitol can be taken on it’s own.
Is it enough to just be taking a prenatal with folic acid?
HELP! I need feedback from anyone who has explored this AFTER using such supplements as DCI from Chiral Balance, for example. I was a FIRM believer in the use of inositol, specifically DCI. I started taking one capsule (600mg) of DCI and saw life-changing results, INITIALLY. My lab levels completely went back to normal range, I stopped holding on to any extra weight (weight isn’t much of an issue for me, so it is noticeable when you hold on to it unusually), and I got my period on such a regular basis!
FAST FORWARD a year and a half later, and everything is reverting. My lab values are back to not being optimal again, I’m holding on to extra weight that would have dropped previously, and my cycles are back to being off. I don’t know if I could have done damage, as per the new requirements of taking a lower dose of DCI and combining with myo, or maybe Chiral balance is putting out inactive batches? Or maybe this is something that wears off over time?! Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Has anyone successfully taken DCI long term so I know this isn’t something that should just “stop” working? If this reversion is due to taking too MUCH DCI, can this be fixed? Should I stop taking it all together to detox before I start Ovasitol? I know these are questions to ask a physician, but finding anyone who knows more about this is impossible! I’m so down about this!
Thoughts and advice welcome! I don’t want to keep damaging my ovaries if this dose is not recommended, and can the damage be healed?!
Thanks so much in advance…
Hi Kristen! Yes you are right that finding anyone who knows more about this is nearly impossible. In my opinion, it is still best to consult your OBgyn for any medication or even supplements that you’ll take or you are taking. They are best on what they know for this is their field of study. You should have close monitoring with your OBgyn on the effects of the meds you are currently taking. He/She can surely explain about any side effects and can advise you to whether you continue or stop the medication. You might also want to reflect if there is a change in any of your diet or lifestyle that may have caused the extra weight or back to irregular period – e.g check your food intake, sleep, exercise? Take care! Wishing you well ?
Tarryn, is there an answer for this question? If this a type of supplement that will build up and stop working? I want to try and get my insulin regulated and was curious to hear from others who have been taking it a while. Thanks
Hi all! I just ordered Ovasitol. Although I am not trying to get pregnant, it seems to have added benefits with loosing weight. I really hope it works!
HI!
DOES Ovasitol help with facial hair due to PCOS?
If hot do you have anything to suggest for the facial hair ?
I would also like to know about facial hair reduction & usage of ovasitol. Any answers anyone?
Hi! I’ve been taking Ovasitol for just over three weeks and the only difference I can see is in my facial hair growth. I was shaving under my chin every day and still feeling very coarse stubble by late afternoon until I started taking this supplement. Now I’m shaving every other day and my hair is much softer and finer. It is still coarser than “normal” facial hair, but so much less obvious than it was! My mom has had the exact same experience, and she has only been taking it for a little over a week.
Just for clarification, the reason I say the difference in facial hair growth is the only thing I’ve noticed is because I’m not really looking for any other differences. I’m 25, 150lbs, and I’m on birth control to help regulate my periods. More than ten years ago I was having my hormone levels checked every few weeks and they confirmed that I do have insulin resistance, but I have managed my symptoms well with a balanced diet. I really only started taking this supplement for the internal and long-term benefits of balancing hormones with the natural ratio of MYO-inositol and DCI. I hope this is helpful. I realize that every woman’s body will respond differently, but this is my experience!
Hello. Thank you so much for all of this information. I am wondering if you have any thoughts about my current situation. I’m 31 years old and just found out that I have PCOS after an ultrasound showed it. I have a little bit of hair loss as well as a few facial hairs and struggle to loose weight. I also am not ovulating every month. I don’t know if I’m insulin resistant or not? How would I find that out? My OB never mentioned that to me. Either way I get a period every month at or around the same time my cycle is just a little longer average is 34 days. Either way, I have a 2.5 year old son that I had naturally and now I am trying to conceive again. I took 50mg of clomid and it did not make me ovulate at my 21 day blood test. Do you think it’s possible that i could have ovulated after the projected date because of my longer cycles? Dr said Ovulation should have occurred day 15,16. I didn’t get a period (first time ever i get one every month so they put me on provera and it came) I am now on 100 mg of clomid and plan to try the Ovasitol. Do you have any other recommendations on what I can do to help me conceive again? Your help is truly appreciated!
Hi Lisa,
It could be that you ovulated later. The best way to know if you did ovulate is to do fertility charting. It is one of the most reliable ways of finding out if you have ovulated. I think Ovasitol could really help. And making the recommended dietary changes (Low GL, dairy and gluten free) can help.
Good luck and I hope you get some amazing news soon!
Hello Mam,
I am an unmarried female of 27 yrs old and have been diagnosed with PCOS for last 8 years. My periods was irregular and as i went through test a cyst of 6 cm was there. So my gyne has prescribed me Yamini(Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets USP).After having this tablets my periods are on regular flow(but they stay just for 2 days with minimal bleeding) but this tablet has increased my prolectin level. Like its been 8 years as I am having this tablets. No doubt this tablet balanced my body weight but still i am worried about that increased level of prolactin hormone. Can it become a hurdle after marriage a i try to conceive. Should I have to start Ovasitol without any doctor prescription? Thanks in advance.
Hi Sonal,
You should speak to your doctor about your Prolactin levels. But, yes, Ovasitol could be really helpful for you.
Can you buy only if you are in America? I am in Australia 🙂
No, you can buy it here http://www.functionalnutritionsupplements.co.uk/?affiliateid=4320 – they ship to Australia
I read your article on Ovasitol and ordered some right away. I’ve been taking Inositol by it’s self for over a year and saw some improvement, but not the return of my cycles. After nearly two months on Ovasitol I was surprised to learn that we achieved pregnancy naturally, without any kind of medical assistance. We gave up hope for that years ago. I’m still in a state of shock and nervous. My doctor has me on progesterone supplementation and advised I discontinue taking ovasitol. He doesn’t seem familiar with it and my research on its safety has shown conflicting reports. I have to say I am nervous to not take it, since it helped us get to where we are, but I don’t want to do anything harmful either. Thoughts?
Kirsty, that’s amazing news! Congratulations! You need to do what you feel most comfortable with. Maybe another discussion with your doctor, sharing some of the following research: https://sites.google.com/site/miscarriageresearch/supplements-and-miscarriage/d-chiro-inositol There has been really good research on the efficacy of Inositol and it’s protective properties during pregnancy. I hope you have the most amazing pregnancy!
Hi I just recently got diagnosed with pcos and it’s wreaked havoc on my emotional and physical state , I can’t seem to loseat weight and I’m back to being manicly depressed on my birth control, I’m just wondering if this is safe to use during birth control and what’s your test subject limit , how long have the good effects of this suppliments been documented in studies ? I’ve tried a bunch of stuff to lose weight and diets and excersize and nothings helping I believe it’s pcos that is making my results futile at this point, no matter what I do I’m at my wits end help!
Congratulations, Kristy! I too became pregnant after just a couple of months on Ovasitol. I actually continued taking it through my pregnancy and just gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl. I was also given progesterone the first three months of my pregnancy. I took that alongside of my regular fish oil, vitamin d and a whole foods prenatal.
I am so excited to hear your news Kristy and Cheryl! I recently found Tarryn’s site and I’m so happy I did. Ordering it now.
Congratulations to you and thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you, Tarryn!!
Hello Ladies,
Just a little in way if an update. Unfortunately, whatever has been happening was not able to take. I worked with my doctor and did progesterone supplementation, etc. but my levels of HCG just were never strong enough. We don’t know exactly if it had been false positives with the at home tests (which would be highly unusual for me), or a very early miscarriage which happened to me once before, but either way sadly we are not expecting. Despite all of this, I am still extremely hopeful about the supplement. My non-existent wonky cycle was actually doing some normal things and so Inhave hopes that it’s perhaps beginning to level some irregularities out. Time will tell!
Hello,
I believe I have PCOS, but I have not been to the doctor yet to be diagnosed. Would it be safe to take this supplement, even if I were not to have PCOS?
Kaitlin, It wouldn’t harm you but getting diagnosed would be the first step so that you know what you are dealing with.
Hi Tarryn,
Are you saying that we should take this instead of the powder inositol or both?
Only take one or the other. I prefer Ovasitol but would still keep taking Inositol if I couldn’t find Ovasitol.
Hi Tarryn. I have two questions for you. I am not sure if I truly have pcos or not, I have a few symptoms such as hair loss and a little out of facial hair, but acne is my main concern. I have had a doctor tell me that I may slightly have Pcos, but I have never been officially diagnosed with it. So my questions are first, is it safe to take even though I am not for sure if I have pcos? And second, does Ovasitol help with acne as that is my main concern and the main reason I am considering it. Thanks!
Chris,
It depends on the cause of the acne. In PCOS, acne is often linked with high testosterone levels. Have you considered cutting out dairy – that can be a culprit.
Hi Chris! Have you had your thyroid checked? I have PCOS and an autoimmune thyroid disorder called Hashimotos, and the symptoms are very similar for both (acne was always my major concern as well). Once I was put on levothyroxine for the thyroid, my skin cleared up significantly. The other piece of the puzzle for me has been cutting out as much dairy as possible. I’m sorry you’re struggling. I know exactly how you feel!
Hi Tarryn,
I was diagnosed with PCOS. As long as I am on nuvaring,
I have normal periods.I like knowing what is
going on with my body, but I really struggle
With weight and cravings. I do not want to get pregnant
At this time. Is it ok to take it and use nuvaring?
Yes, Jennifer. That’s fine!
Hi Taryn,
The Theralogix Website asked for a Provider Referral Code. Do you have one? Kind Regards
Hi Ivy,
If you order using this link, the code should automatically be applied: https://www.pcosdietsupport.com/supplements/ovasitol-for-pcos/
Can i take ovasitol with spirinolactona ?
Tarryn,
Thank you so much for your time invested in researching all of this. I have never heard of PCOS until my doctor explained this to me. I have read 9 weeks of your emails so far and shared them with my husband so he understands what is going on with. I finally decided I would order some Ovasitol. It seems like the side effects that people have experienced (checked several sites for reviews) are minimal. I also have NAFLD and so I’m hoping the Inositol will help with normalizing that as well.
Again, thank you so much for your time and energy. I’ve already been lucky enough to conceive my now 8 month old beautiful baby girl, but I’m planning on finding my way to health so if this is something I pass on to her, I can help guide her way.
Hi Tarryn, Is Ovasitol safe to take while breastfeeding? Thanks!
I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 yrs ago and never tried any medications or supplement to balance my hormones. The doctor that I worked with went to a seminar and came back with scary information that make me rethink my options.
She directed me to your website and have been reading ever since.
Now my question, what do you think would be better, to take Metformin or the Ovasitol?
Which one do you think is safer to use?
thank you so much for all the informations here, I learned so much.
I would ask the doctor, because part of that may be based on what your A1C looks like.
Hi Tarryn. I follow you, this is a very good page. Now I’m taking Inositol. I just bought my first case of ovasitol to change my supplement. I’ve searched a lot in Internet about this Supplement and everyone has good comments. But also I asked my doctor and she said Do not take anything not FDA approved. I have an appointment with her to hear what she has to say about. I really think this is good for us and I want to take it, but if my doctor say not ?
well this is my issue.
thanks for all your support.
Hi Patricia,
Both Inositol and Ovasitol have good research to support their use. It might be worth discussing it with your doctor. Here is some research that you can use at that appointment.https://sites.google.com/site/miscarriageresearch/supplements-and-miscarriage/d-chiro-inositol
I was taking Pregnitude and had great success with it. Decreased hair growth. Lost weight. Suppressed appetite. When I ran out I read the article on Ovasitol and bought it instead.
I have been taking Ovasitol for about 3 weeks. I can not say that is because of the change (because there has been a lot of stress in my life lately) but I have experienced an increase in the facial hair growth, gained weight and every time I take the Ovasitol I get nauseated about a half hour after taking it. I am going to continue with it until this pack is gone and then go back to Pregnitude to see if that helps.
Just wasn’t sure if anyone else had experienced the nausea with the Ovasitol…
I’m taking janumet. I’m insulin resistance along with PCOS. Is it safe to take ovasitol
Both can impact on your insulin and make you hypoglycaemic so you may want to speak with your doctor first.
Hi there,
I’m currently TTC and I’ve only just found out I have PCOS. Does this company ship to Canada? My OBGYN put me on provera for 5 months but I’m not sure if that’s helping. Will this help me conceive?
I would appreciate any guidance. Thanks in advance.
Ashleigh
Hi Ashleigh,
I am from Canada, trying to conceive as well. My OBGYN prescribed Provera as well but I never took it on the advice of a friend who was extremely nauseous on it. Just wanted to say hi and open the door to further conversations if you’re interested. 🙂
Karli
They do ship to Canada, not to the UK though.
If you’re in the UK, you can order it here: http://www.functionalnutritionsupplements.co.uk/?affiliateid=4320
