In this episode of the PCOS Diet Support Podcast, we have a very special guest (I am biased!) My hubby helps me to answer a question I was recently asked: “How do we explain PCOS to the man in our lives?” Who better to answer this question than a man?

In this episode, you’ll find out about:
- How a man would explain PCOS and it’s symptoms
- Tim’s view of the more difficult symptoms of PCOS
- How your man can encourage and support you with your PCOS
- How my mood and self esteem changed when I started taking control of my PCOS
- My sex life – how did that get in there?! Listen out for my hugely embarrassed giggle when Tim goes there…

What an interesting and nice podcast, thank you for that! This was the first insight into a man’s view on PCOS I have ever come across (apart from my partner’s, that is). What I find noteworthy is that Tim was most affected by your mood swings, Tarryn. Same here – especially before I was diagnosed, I had emotinal breakdowns every other minute. And it did not get any better when I was diagnosed with PCOS (“I am never going to have a baby! I will have a beard and I’m doomed to get fat! You will leave me eventually!” Think that about at least once a day, accompanied by A LOT of tears.) My partner tried to support me all this time, but he, too, does not really know how to respond to a hormone problem that seems to be kind of my personal female “problem” in the first place. Right now, I’m on the pill again, because my doctor couldn’t think of anything else. But I try to eat well, exercise and take supplements, as I want to come off the pill again in the near future and try for a baby. Which already worries me, him not so much. 😉
We will see what challenges come up during that time. Until then, I will give this podcast to him to listen to. He will certainly find it useful, as he and I have never heard anyone say something like: “You know, my girlfried has PCOS. We share a razor.” People, especially men, just don’t talk about it.
So thanks again for the podcast and this great and hugely helpful site!
Greetings from Germany!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the podcast, Linda! I hope your partner also finds it helpful.
There is hope when coming off the pill and you don’t have to live on the rollercoaster! Diet, supplements and exercise can go a long way to managing your PCOS and helping you fall pregnant!
You talk about eating right alot. I work on that and are told many diffrent things of how i should be eating but i don’t seem to get any resolts other then with one diet that by doctor realy does not like where i had no suger at all. When i say no suger i mean not even natrau ones.
I do my best to stay away from starchs but you need to have some.
I am lost and fedup and would like to get a second child. I had to get help for the first one and I feel it was all luck that I got that one.
